Setup tips on WIN 7

For window 7 64bit, you have to use the Edibas 6.4.7 (latest) and INPA 5.02 setup.

NOTE: make sure your ediabas.ini file is set to port 192.186.68.1)

—> it is a very common error especially if you experiment with different versions of these programs

Quick fix for whomever runs into that problem

so this is what you do..you download BMW standard tools 2.12.

Bmw tools 2.12 doesn’t include the root folders for inpa or ediabas..so next what you do is download it from kickass.to Link (http://kickass.to/usearch/bmw%202.12/)download it…make sure you have the main ediabas and inpa folders that you have already downloaded or got from a CD with your cord….and what i did was opened the torrent folder and copied the files from folder 2 over my existing ediabas folder. And when it said this file already exists, i just put copy and replace for everything. Then, i did the same to the inpa folder and that was a quick fix for the ediabas and inpa….to get started on windows 7 64bit…disv57 and sss progman took me a while longer because they dont tell you how to really do it in the instructions….it took me days but i figured it all out…i just havent got around to NCS expert yet….i know i got it to work with ediabas 7.0….that was ncexpert 4.0.x but inpa 5.0.2 doesnt work with ediabas 7.0…..and inpa.7.0.6 is in german….boooo…lol/////however i guess you have to choose…..i think sss is more user freindly

Installation:
Step 1: Install software setup

Open the DVD and go to the Program installation folder. Rightclick on setup.exe and select
Properties. And go to the tab Compatibility. Choose Run this program as, Windows XP
service pack 3. Choose OK and run setup.exe

Step 2: Install BMW Standard Tools

Select English language and follow screen prompts

Choose Available Hardware Interface as STD:OBD when come across Hardware Interface Setting screen

Set OBD COM port to COM1 if you are using a USB to serial adapter tick
the box in next screen

Windows will ask you for previous installed folder of Ediabas and INPA, choose the
folders. This should be C:Ediabas and C:INPA. Proceed the install and when asked to reboot
computer, reboot your computer!

Step 3: Update Ediabas and INPA

Go to the software DVD and open folder Referenz then Install and run Instprog.exe.

On the screen prompted choose OK then choose language and Continue
Then choose C: as destination drive, this should not be changed!

The choose BMW Group Rectification Programs UK for Europe, USA for USA

Then choose update boxes next to Ediabas and INPA

Continue with the installation and press End when finished. A folder will open, close this folder.

Step 4: OBDSetup.exe

Browse C:EdiabasHardwareOBD and run obdsetup.exe, a screen similar like this should
appear. If not you need to add some register values that are also in the downloaded file!

Run OBDsetup registervalues Windows 7, when prompted to be sure this values should be added press Yes.

Then run OBDSetup again to check if everything is OK now!

Step 5: Ediabas.ini
When you want to use INPA with DISGT1 you have to copy the ediabas.ini file from the
downloaded file to C:EdiabasBin.
